What is the Vivint Product Testing Program? The Vivint Product Testing Program allows select participants to test and provide feedback on new Vivint products before they are widely released. Your insights are integral to help us improve functionality, design, and overall user experience for all of our current and future customers.
Why does Vivint offer this program? We believe real customer feedback is essential to delivering the best smart home experience. By involving real users early, we can better understand needs, uncover potential issues, and refine our products.
Is there a cost to participate? No, participation in the Vivint Product Testing Program is completely free, we only ask that you fill out the prompted surveys and follow install directions to ensure we get the best and most complete feedback possible.
Who can participate? Participants must be:
At least 18 years old
A current Vivint customer or employee
Willing to sign a confidentiality agreement (NDA)
Able to provide detailed feedback in a timely manner
How do I apply to be a tester? Interested customers can apply through our Application Portal when prompted via a welcome email.
How are testers selected? Participants are chosen based on a variety of factors including product compatibility, geographic location, household type, and willingness to provide timely feedback.
What types of products will I be testing? Products that could be tested include but are not limited to new versions of Vivint security devices, cameras, smart home accessories, software updates, or mobile app features.
Will I get to keep the products after testing? It depends on the specific test. Some products may be provided for free to keep, while others may be requested to be returned after the testing period.
How long does a typical testing period last? Most testing periods last between 4 to 8 weeks, depending on the complexity of the product.
What are my responsibilities as a tester?
Install and use the product as instructed
Complete surveys, provide detailed feedback, or participate in follow up interviews
Report any issues or suggestions for improvement
Will my information be kept private? Yes. We take your privacy seriously. Your feedback will be used for product improvement purposes only. Personal information is handled according to Vivint’s Privacy Policy.
Do I have to sign a Non-Disclosure Agreement (NDA)? Yes. Because many of the products are pre-release, testers must sign an NDA agreeing not to publicly share any information, images, or experiences related to the product.
Can I opt out of the program? Yes. You can opt out at any time by contacting the Product Testing Team. However, you may be asked to return any products provided.
What happens if I have issues with the test product? We encourage you to report all issues immediately through the provided feedback channels. Our support team will assist as needed.
Will participating affect my Vivint services? No. Participation will not disrupt your existing Vivint services or warranties.
